When I started planning my three weeks of research in residence at the interdisciplinary centre “Beyond Canon” I had no idea how the Corona Virus would affect the world. My stay started out as planned but then Europe started shutting down. I was well and safe the whole time, albeit with considerably less contact with fellow scholars than I had hoped for. I brought trumpets and looked forward to play with a church brass choir, but ended up playing solitary tunes by the Danube instead. This is, however, nothing compared to what many have had to endure this Spring. I am well as is all of my family. Regensburg will be there another time. I’ll be back.
