In April I read that a museum and a memorial were opening, on one of the darkest parts of our history: “about the legacy of racial inequality and for the truth and reconciliation that leads to real solutions to contemporary problems”. The museum and memorial are in Montgomery, Alabama, and during this year’s travel to visit family in Georgia we decided to include a visit to Montgomery. It was definitely worth the time we spent on the road.
Both The Legacy Museum: From Enslavement to Incarceration and The National Memorial for Peace and Justice made deep impressions both on me and on my Swedish family. If you are in the area I strongly recommend a visit here.
