At the May meeting of the The Patristics Research Seminar at the Newman Institute in Uppsala I presented my paper “The Concept of Repentance in Second Clement.” A good and very constructive discussion with seminar participants followed.
The Annual Meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature took place in Denver this year. As always there were many occasions to catch up with scholars and friends, and many interesting papers. Program Book and Abstracts can be found on the SBL Meetings Page.
I was happy to be invited to attend The Krister Stendahl Memorial Lecture. This year’s lecture was given by Paula Fredriksen, Aurelio Professor of Scripture emerita at Boston University and since 2009 Distinguished Visiting Professor of Comparative Religion at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Her interesting lecture was entitled Messy Monotheism and Interfaith Pluralism: Gods and Humans
The general meeting of the SNTS 2018 took place in Athens, Augusti 7-10. As usual it was good to meet colleagues and listen to inspiring papers and seminars. I had the opportunity to give a Short Paper: “How Did Second Clement Originally End? A Study of 2 Clement 19–20.” and also a response to Cilliers
On March 8-9 I participated in a conference arranged by the Örebro School of Theology. A summary of the conference can be found here: Conference Summary. The papers will be published in a volume in WUNT, edited by Mikael Tellbe, Tommy Wasserman, and Ludvig Svensson.
